How to Play

Whirred™

Objective

Have fun making words with a given set of letters

Collect points by making as many valid words as you can

SCORES: Letters = 1-5 points. Each Vowel = 2 points. Prefixes & Suffixes = 1-3 points. Blank Tiles = 0 points.

1. Choose a Game Level
- Easy - Use unlimited Vowels, Prefixes & Suffixes and Time
- Medium - Use unlimited Vowels, Prefixes & Suffixes, with a 5-Minute Timer
- My Game - Set the number of Vowels and Prefixes & Suffixes you wish to use, and your desired Time
- Practice Whirred™ Challenge - Use Unlimited Vowels, Prefixes & Suffixes, with a 3-Minute Timer
2. Making words
- To make words, drag and drop Letters next to each other, left to right, or top to bottom
- The first Letter of the first word in a game must be placed in the centre of the board as indicated
- You can drag and drop Vowels, Prefixes or Suffixes next to Letters to make a word
  For Easy Level and Practice Whirred™ Challenge Level (Classes 3-5)
- Make valid words anywhere on the Board to make points
- Words don't have to be connected for the Easy Level
- Where words are interconnected, they must be valid words after connecting
  In the Medium and My Game Levels (Classes 3-5), all words must be interconnected to make points.
3. Vowels, Prefixes & Suffixes
- Use all Vowels, Prefixes & Suffixes by clicking on the relevant tile at the top right
- You can click on a Blank tile to use any Letter, Vowel, Prefix or Suffix
- Make words with the given Letters, and any Vowel, Prefix & Suffix
- TIP: Practice making words in the Easy Level before playing the other levels
- For Easy Level and Practice Whirred™ Challenge Level (Classes 3-5)
4. Correcting Errors
- On the game board, to correct or change invalid words, right click on a Letter
- "Clear" removes the tile
- "Reset Board" removes ALL the tiles on the board, so be careful how you use it
- Right clicking anywhere on the board will also allow you to "Reset Board" and remove all the tiles
- TIP: Tiles already on the board can be moved anywhere else on the board
5. Check Your Score
- Click on the Check Words & Score button on the right to see your game score and if the words you have made are available or not available
- Only words available in our database are considered valid and will get points
- Tile points will be counted twice if used in 2 interconnected, valid words
- 20 Bonus Points will be awarded if
  - All 16 given Letter tiles are used to make valid words in one game
  - All valid words are interconnected, except in the Easy Level and Practice Whirred™ Challenge Level for Classes 3-5
- Your scores at all Levels will be available in "Score Progress" on your My Scores page on the left navigation bar once you have exited the game.
- TIP: Tiles already on the board can be moved anywhere else on the board

How to Play

Whirred™ Challenge

Objective

Measure your growing English vocabulary skills
Make as many valid words and collect as many points as you can, in the given 3 minutes
SCORES: Letters = 1-5 points. Each Vowel = 2 points. Prefixes or Suffixes = 1-3 points. Blank Tile = 0 points.
The first 5 winners in each Class will be awarded certificates each week

1. Log in / Registration and go to Dashboard

Log in 5 minutes before the scheduled Whirred™ Challenge Time (You need to be registered. Click Here to Register) Those already registered, need not register again
2. On your Dashboard, click on the Whirred™ Challenge button in the ble box on the right

This will open the Whirred™ Challenge game screen

The game screen will only open if you are logged in. Otherwise, the Log in /Register page will open
3. Whirred™ Challenge game time - 3 minutes

The timer on the Whirred™ Challenge game screen will show how much time is left for the Challenge game to start

Exactly one minute before the Challenge game is scheduled to begin, a bell will sound, followed by a countdown of short beeps

The Whirred™ Challenge will start with a long beep, and 16 Letter tiles will appear on the screen
4. Playing the Whirred™ Challenge game

All players will be given the same 16 Letters to play with and only 3 minutes to drag, drop and arrange tiles into valid words

Make as many valid words as you can with the 16 tiles, using the Vowels, Prefixes and Suffixes where you can

Blank tiles have no points

Each tile displays a score (see above, under Objectives, for Score counts). When you make a valid word, the scores are added to give you your points
For Whirred™ Challenge (Classes 3 to 5)

You can make words anywhere on the board; the words don’t have to be connected

Words can be made left to right and/or top to bottom
For Whirred™ Challenge (Classes 6 to 12)

All words must be interconnected

Words can be made left to right and/or top to bottom

TIP: To improve your score, use more Vowels, Prefixes & Suffixes where possible, and play the Practice Whirred™ Challenge Level to get used to the game.

2. Log in and open Speakeasy™ game screen
Once logged in, click on the Speakeasy™ icon at the bottom of the dashboard to open the game screen
Speakeasy™ for desktop & laptop / Speakeasy™ Lite for mobile & tablet
3. Follow instructions
Simple instructions in Hindi and English are given with each exercise
4. Playing the Manchaha Level
Drag, drop and arrange available tiles on the Varnamala board
Make as many valid Hindi words as you can with the given tiles to collect points.
HINT : Use more Matras and Aadhe Akshar to increase score
